01What this is
Gigi turns your contacts, calendar history and confirmed profile context into a searchable professional network. This connector lets an AI assistant you already use — Claude or ChatGPT — search that network on your behalf, inside the conversation you are already having.
You ask your assistant who you know at a company, who could introduce you to someone, or what you know about a person, and it answers from your Gigi network instead of guessing.
It is built on the Model Context Protocol, the open standard those assistants use to reach external tools. You need a Gigi account, and nothing else.
02What you can do
- See what is searchable. Your profile, the networks you may search, and how many people they reach.
- Search your network. Describe who you are looking for in your own words, and filter on people you have actually met, emailed, messaged or worked with.
- Look someone up. By name, email or company, one person or twenty at once.
- Open a profile. Career history, education, links, press, and how you know them.
03Before you start
- A Gigi account. The connector reads your own network, so it needs to know who you are.
- The connector address, which is the same for everyone:
https://mcp.gigi.co/mcp
- Keep the /mcp at the end. Without it the assistant will still sign you in, and then find no tools at all.
04Install in Claude
- Open Settings, then Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Paste the address above, including /mcp, and confirm.
- Claude opens Gigi's approval screen. Sign in if you are not already, read what the connector may do, and choose Allow.
- Claude asks you to confirm you started this yourself. Continue.
Gigi’s tools then appear in the connector’s tool list, set to ask for your approval before each use. You can leave that as it is.
Claude will warn you that Gigi is an unverified app. That is expected while the connector is not yet published in Claude’s directory — it says nothing about the connection itself, which is authorized by your own Gigi account.
05Install in ChatGPT
Until Gigi’s public plugin listing is available, ChatGPT asks for a few more steps because the connector counts as a custom one.
- Open Settings, then Apps, then Advanced, and turn on Developer mode.
- Back in Apps, choose Create app.
- Name it Gigi, paste the address above, choose OAuth as the authentication method, accept the warning about custom connectors, and create it.
- Choose Connect. Gigi's approval screen opens.
- Sign in if you are not already, then choose Allow. You are returned to ChatGPT.
Then start a new conversation. ChatGPT loads its connectors when a conversation begins, so one that was already open will not see Gigi.
06Things to ask
- What can you see of my Gigi network?
- Find backend engineers I have actually met in person, closest first.
- Who do I know at Stripe?
- Remind me who Marie Dupont is and how I know her.
- Who in my network could introduce me to someone at a Series B fintech?
A search takes twenty to sixty seconds. Your assistant will tell you it is working; let it finish.
07What it cannot do
- It reads. What it can change, when you ask it to: send a Key People request to a contact you name, as the Connect button in Gigi does — that contact is notified and decides — and act on a pending request as the lists on your Network page do: accept or decline one you received, remind or cancel one you sent. It never sends an introduction or a message for you. Drafting one is fine; sending it stays yours.
- It sees only what you can already see in Gigi, and nothing beyond the networks you are authorized to search.
- It cannot act as anyone else. The connector is tied to your account, and nothing an assistant sends can change whose network it reads.
What you ask for is returned to your assistant, which processes it under its provider’s own terms. Results describe real people and can include their contact details. Our privacy policy explains what that means.
08If something goes wrong
- You sign in but no tools appear. The address is missing its /mcp. Remove the connector, add it again with the full address.
- The assistant says it has no Gigi connector. Start a new conversation: connectors are loaded when one begins.
- Approving sends you back to the same screen. Sign out of Gigi in your browser, sign in again, then approve.
- A search returns nothing. Ask your assistant what it can see of your network first — it will tell you how many people are reachable, which usually explains a thin result.
